Cross Creek Car Brokers (CCCar Brokers) -  the owner of Piston Hounds Car Club (PHCC) is  operated and controlled from their offices in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire 

Piston Hounds Car Club (PHCC) are expanding and taking on new membership NOW (June 2010)

(PHCC) was founded in March 2009 and within the past 14 months we have had over 100 members join and we currently look after all off their motoring requirements - (referances are available if required)

(PHCC) has had experience over the past 14 months managing our customers cars from all aspects of car ownership (see below)

We effectively manage your car with annual MOT's, Servicing, Body refurbishment (scuffs, scratches, etc) Tyres, pre-preparation work for selling or PX, accident damage, basically anything your car needs then we handle this for you (also see our section on Bodyshop and repairs)

We also can ensure the interior of your car is kept in very good order as can offer local repairs to full re-trimming in leather and cloth. If you wear denim jeans and own a car with a light leather interior then you will need our services!

We can also arrange annual insurance through our network of insurance brokers, from small fleet policies, standard policies and youg driver policies. We will put you in contact with the correct insurance brokers /company who will deal with you on a direct basis with all of your insurance needs

We will arrange to collect your car when work is required and leave you with a LOAN car for you to use while we have your car, typically we have Peugeot 207's and all cars are less than 1 Year old

At present (PHCC) operates within a 60 mile radius of Gerrards Cross, Bucks, later this Year we will also expand to Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Exeter and will operate a 60 mile radius policy from all Satellite offices

We are looking to double of membership from 100 to 200 members over the next few months from our Gerrards Cross office and will take on 100 new members from each Satellite office by the end of 2010

Membership fees

£75.00 joining fee - this includes a personal visit to take the details of each vehicle you want (PHCC) to manage, and create a database to ensure we know when the car is due an MOT, Annual service, insurance renewal, etc etc

£125.00 annual membership - this includes complete management of your car (s) and free delivery and collection each time we collect your vehicle and take for your annual MOT, Service, etc etc + the use of our Loan car

The cost of works will be invoiced to you at TRADE value i.e. £45.00 for an MOT, and £60.00 per hour labour rate for any works performed on your car + parts required

If you require your vehicle to be serviced at a main franchise dealer, dealer labour rates and charges will apply and is obviously much more expensive than using our network of suppliers

All prices quoted above are subject to 17.5% VAT rate (except on MOT's) as these are VAT exempt

Transfer to Monte Carlo by coach (16 miles)

Then into Casino Square to eat, drink and watch the race

Back to Nice for 8pm and return to LHR for 11pm

As with all Grand Prix’s it is difficult to see who is winning

Around all of the tables will be monitors so you can watch the race

Being in Monaco for the Grand Prix you can hear the cars

Smell the burning rubber and people watch

You can pop into the Casino or go to the Hotel de Paris after the race for cocktails

(We went to the Hotel L’Armitage for drinks and to look at the fabulous yachts)

We are pleased to offer through a very good friend Nigel some excellent wines that you can’t BUY in the UK

Nigel is in the process of setting up a new business "Boutique Vintners of Chile" in the UK and his Brother-in-Law is based in Chile with extensive knowledge of wine

Chile has been growing wines since the 1550’s, and because it is like an Island (The driest desert in the World, Atacama, in the North, the Andes mountains in the East, the Pacific Ocean to the West and Antarctica in the South!) it has never suffered from the dreaded Phylloxera vine virus that decimated European and North American vines in the late 18^th Century.

Actually Chile’s vines were plundered for cuttings after the outbreak was over to restock European and North American vineyards. Since that time, Chile’s wine growing regions have spread further out from their Santiago and Casablanca valley origins, and now grow vines as far North as Elqi Valley and as far South as Malleco Valley, some 300 miles from South of Chile’s second and recently earthquake devastated city of Concepion, making a total geographical spread of vines of over 2,000 miles long.

Under the Pincochet regime, nothing much was exported in the way of wine, but since his resignation, Chilean growers have gone for volume growth to create wealth through sales and large wineries now produce 98% of Chile’s wine – leaving Nigel and his brother-in-law just 2% of the “Limited production wines” to export and sell in the UK and Europe. What they want is QUALITY and not Quantity and with these wines listed below they certainly have found QUALITY.

As stated you cannot BUY this wine in the UK, and long term you can only BUY through Nigel whose Company Boutique Vintners of Chile will be able to supply a select customer base for many Years to come

WINES FROM CHILE: RED

FLAHERTY 2006. Produced in Aconcagua Valley, North of Santiago, grower Ed Flaherty has produced a very small quantity of this superb example of red wine blend in the Bordeaux style. Cabernet Sauvignon (36%) with Syrah (64%). Crystal clear and a deep ruby red colour, this beautifuly balanced wine gives blueberries and raspberries on the nose with a distinct floral accent. On the palate, Allspice with vanilla and a hint of toasted oak. Stunning. There were only 254 cases of this wine produced and there are only a handful of this vintage left and the 2007 will be not be with us for a while yet (it is actually a different blend, adding Tempranillo to give a peppery dimension).  Red meat, strong cheese.14.1%ABV. £17.00 per bottle

ERASMO 2005. From a member of the famous Cinzano dynasty, this wine is produced on the ancient estate of La Reserva de Caliboro in the Maule Valley, about 180 miles south of the capital Santiago. A lot of this winery was destroyed during the recent earthquake, although thankfully, no one was seriously hurt. We are not sure of any further supplies from either this vintage or the upcoming 2006, so this may be the last for a while. No less 94 points and the gold medal at Descorchados  (the most prestigious wine tasting event in South America). Deep red, blackberries and spice. Very sophisticated – try it with sophisticated food – game, wild boar, etc 14.1% ABV £20.00 per bottle

SIGLA 3. The combined skill of no less than 4 oeneologists created this emphatic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah in the Upper Maipo Valley, about 50 miles south west of Santiago, who, luckily for them (and us!) avoided the devastation of the recent quake. A splendid blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah: spicy, peppery, complex and with a long finish. Only 6,500 bottles were produced and each one is numbered by hand (who would be a winemakers apprentice?)

So good it can be drunk on it's own but is good with charcuterie and red meat. 14% ABV

CATRALA PINOT NOIR GRAND RESERVE 2007. If you like Burgundy, you will love this! Aged in French oak in the Casablanca Valley,  west of Santiago, this clear, deep red gives raspberries, blackcurrants and pepper on the nose and then delivers it straight to the palate with a long satisfying finish. 14.5% ABV £20.00 per bottle

CATRALA MERLOT GRAND RESERVE 2007.  Hand picked grapes from 15 year old vines and aged for almost a year in French oak barrels, this is classic Merlot at its very best.  Bursting with flavour, and with so long that you expect it to climb out of the glass by itself, forest fruits, wild gooseberries and pepper.  A masterpiece, dry with an enormous finish. Red meat, game or even dark chocolate. 14.5% ABV £19.00 per bottle

WINES FROM CHILE: WHITES

CATRALA CHARDONNAY 2006.  Sharp citrus yellow in colour. Meadow flowers, butter, clover honey and no sign of the oak it was aged in. On its own or light nibbles. 14%ABV.

CATRALA  SAUVIGNON BLANC 2008.  Pale straw colour, with a nose of cut grass, hay and citrus fruits, another hand harvested winner from Casablanca Valley. A super special spring like zing at the end makes this a memorable glass or two. White fish, seafood or even salad. 13.5%ABV

As Nigel has started Boutique Vintners importing wines from Chile, he also decided that he wanted to find a vineyard in France that hadn’t exported any wines yet into the UK.

Domaine BOTTS Freres, Alsace, France – They have been growing vines continuously in Alsace for 175 Years, and are now on their seventh generation of family growers here with owner Laurent BOTT and his wife Nicole and they both know a thing or two about making wine as well as making grapes.

To help clear up a small misconception amongst a lot of even knowledge wine buffs out there, please be aware that Alsace has never been part of Germany except when occupied militarily (when they have put up huge resistance). We have no doubt that growing Germanic types of grapes and using Germanic writing on Germanic style bottles has not helped. To quote the late great chef Keith Floyd, with his typical exaggeration “if only they would change the style of writing on the bottle, they would sell millions in the UK!” Nigel agrees with him, actually so do Botts Freres – and the change is happening, if slowly.

If you ever have the opportunity – you should visit Alsace. The summers are hot, the winters are cold and the people are warm all Year and the wine is both chilled and excellent

WINES FROM FRANCE: RED

CHATER MERLOT / CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2007. Multi medal winning wine from hand picked grapes in Bergerac in South West France. Almost purple in colour with dark fruits, vanilla and a hint of liquorice. It will keep improving for at least another 5 years (you won't keep it that long!)Roasts, casseroles or the cheese course 13% ABV. £10.00 per bottle 

CHATER CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2005 Beyond purple, almost black. Full bodied Cabernet is wonderful and if they had made enough of this to enter competition, it would have scored very highly indeed! Hand picked at exactly the right moment. Rich, blackberries, liquorice, with a hint of mint. Roasts. Dwindling supplies. Roasts. 13.5%ABV £10.00 per bottle

CHATER UNOAKED MERLOT  2005. Dark fruits, nuts, tobacco and leather are all part of this luscious little number. Again hand picked by experts at precisely the right time, not a day too early. Unfiltered. Strong cheeses, maybe Epoisses, would do nicely. 14% £15.00 per bottle

CHATER OAKED MERLOT CABERNET 2005. Another multi medal winner from this English owned (and run!) vineyard in Bergerac. Gently harvested by hand from 40 year old vines and aged in French oak barrels. Essences of liquorice, vanilla, chocolate, spices and dark fruits. Will keep on improving if you keep it that long. Unfiltered. Very, very low stock. 14% ABV. £17.00 per bottle

BOTT FRERES PINOT NOIR Selection Personnelle 2007. You would not think it was the same grape as from Chile's Catrala. Pinot Noir is the only red grape grown in Alsace and because of the climate it benefits from being slightly chilled before serving. Very fruity, with ripe cherries and good with game, grilled meat and cheese. 12%ABV £20.00 per bottle

WINES FROM FRANCE: WHITE

THE WINES OF BOTT FRERES

PINOT GRIS GRAND CRU GLOECKELBERG 2005. Complex, long legs, minerals, green vegetables at the front with a hint of strawberry at the back. Very long finish. Exotic food: Japan, China, Thailand. £25.00 per bottle

PINOT GRIS RESERVE PERSONNELLE 2005. Beautifully structured, hint of smoke, vegetable aromas, very complex. White meat, Foie Gras and the aforementioned exotica.

MUSCAT CUVEE PARTICULIERE 2008. Less grapey than most Muscat wines with orchard fruits. Very refreshing and there are rumours that it will be “the next big thing” in white wine. Scallops, asparagus or even escargots! £19.00 per bottle

BOTT FRERES PINOT BLANC 2007 Supple, fresh yet well rounded. Citrus fruits and something green that you can't quite recognise. Asparagus, Porcini, crudites and most things from the local deli. £13.00 per bottle

BOTT FRERES RIESLING RESERVE PERSONNELLE 2006 The term Reserve Personnelle means that wine is drawn only from the top of the barrel, giving a remarkable clarity and a sparkle effect. A great test, which it will pass is drink it with Sauerkraut! £17.00 per bottle

BOTT FRERES RIESLING CUVEE PARTICULIERE 2007. Firm character ad an intense bouquet make this a favourite. Drink it on its own.£15.00 per bottle

BOTT FRERES GEWURZTRAMINER RESERVE PERSONNELLE 2007. Summer in Alsace is quite hot and a summer lunch of marinated salmon would compliment this perfectly. Traminer by the way, means “spice” £19.00 per bottle

A short idea of the week:

These short breaks have been popular in the past. Ibiza seems to have developed a “long weekend” clubbing trend recently. Holiday would run something along the following plan:

Day 1 - Arrive Ibiza mid afternoon by jet. Picked up from private terminal in VIP chauffeur car/s and taken to top hotel. In the evening eat at one of Ibiza’s top restaurants.

Day 2 - Pick-up next day from hotel and chauffeur driven to yacht where coffee and canapés are served. Around mid morning set sail for the famous island of Formentera. Relax for a while after dropping anchor only yards from the beach and later enjoy perhaps a Lobster lunch at one of the world renowned beach restaurants of Juan & Andreas or Es Moli de Sal – where people go to be seen.
After lunch enjoy the relaxing atmosphere back on the yacht or take a ride in the RIB boat to small secluded sandy bays, where only small boats can access, and enjoy Strawberries & Champagne on the beach. Early evening head back to port and ready for dinner at El Divinos, one of Ibiza´s top club restaurants, for around 22:00 and then off to one of the clubs for around 01:00am. Returning to the O2 Pier to disembark and walk just a few minutes into the Arena. We will collect you after the concert finishes and you can carry on your party on the return to Chatham. This multi watercraft event is a unique activity ideal for a birthday, office outing or hen and stag days. You will get the chance to ride four different watercraft including a jetbike, jetski, the unique jetRIB and challenging 'shoe' .

The classic stand up Jetski provides a real challenge and you'll soon learn it's not as easy as it looks, but with expert tuition on hand, you should soon find yourself riding with style!

After that, there's the jetbike - a relatively stable craft compared to the jetski, but don't be fooled. As soon as you open the throttle, you'll be off faster than you can say 'How many miles to the gallon does it do?'!. Jetbikes are great fun and easy to control as they speed across the water.

Then there's the jetRIB. A brand new invention, it merges a jetski with a mini Rigid Inflatable Boat to give you a stable and incredibly nippy craft that delights in sliding round corners and skimming across the water. Feel the wind in your hair as you take to the special jetRIB course full of tight turns and fast straights!

You can then catch your breath as the expert instructors demonstrate just what can be done on these amazing machines in a spectacular jetski display. To finish off, each member of your team will take the 'shoe challenge' and pilot this older style jetbike around a course against the clock. The shoe is a bit of a handful and provides a real challenge to end your day. The best two riders of the day will be presented with winners trophies.
 
After your fun-packed time on the water, you'll no doubt want to relax. The centre is very family friendly with a children's paddling area, drinks and snacks being served and even a BBQ area in summer. A superb way to spend a day by the lake.

Most of us have seen it in the movies or on TV and have always wanted to get behind the controls of a tank and drive it over a car, well now is your chance to make your dream a once in a lifetime reality.

Rev up 'The Daddy' of all military vehicles, the Chieftain main battle tank and crush a complete car under the tracks of this 56 tonne monster as if it were an empty beer can.  Then enjoy a moment of total satisfaction as you look back at the trail of shattered glass and twisted steel left behind you.  Best of all because the Chieftain is so huge there's plenty of space for friends or family to ride in the tank with you and watch your face as you deliver total destruction to an innocent saloon or hatchback.

There is also a huge armoury on site containing a bewildering array of weapons, ancient and modern.  The team of ex military instructors will be only too happy to show you around and explain their uses.

After a full safety briefing with your instructor, you will be strapped into your buggy's bucket seat with a full safety harness.   Then it's out onto the challenging track to experience high speed, mud in the face, all out action.

These buggies are purpose built for off road racing, they have a 600cc v twin engine in a strong lightweight chassis.  Rear wheel drive and simple controls enable you to explore your skills at the wheel from the moment the lights turn green.  The track is well defined with tyre walls and is controlled with marshall's flags and traffic lights.

The driving conditions change radically depending on the weather - fast and precise in the dry, sliding around and getting incredibly muddy in the wet.  Even in dry weather corners will be hosed down for a bit of extra action!

Road or Rally?   You can settle this important driving argument - which is more fun to drive, a stylish and refined supercar or a raw, lightweight, stripped rally racer complete with spoilers and popping turbos?

This new line up for 2008 pits four European heavyweights, the Porsche 911 Carrera, Ferrari 360 Spider, Lamborghini Gallardo and Aston Martin V8 Vantage against two legends from the Far East, the Subaru Impreza Sti and Mitsubishi Evo 8, in a day of high revving, turbo boosted heaven.

After taking each of the supercars for a six lap session in the morning, the afternoon puts you in the rallying hot seat piloting the two purpose built rally cars around the high speed tarmac course.  In total you will have driven the cars a distance of nearly 40 miles!

Finally, a professional rally driver will show you how it's really done as you enjoy a high-speed passenger ride before you are awarded a personalised certificate and driver assessment. 

No traffic, no speed limits and no fuel bills - the only downside is having to return the cars at the end of the day!
